Upon arrival, reception by our representatives and transfer to hotel. Documentation kid, detailed program explanation and assistance with luggage and hotel registraion. In the afternoon, visit the city to see its most important architectural icons such as the Plaza Mayor or Checkerboard of Pizarro, where we see the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and Archbishop’s Palace. Continue to visit the Convent of Santo Domingo, jewel XVI century architecture. Road to the modern area of the city, cross the exclusive district of San Isidro, to appreciate Huallamarca. Finally, we conclude our circuit in Miraflores, where we visit the Parque del Amor, excellent spot to enjoy a splendid view of the Pacific Ocean.
At the scheduled time, transfer to airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, reception by our representatives and transfer to hotel. Rest of the morning is free to relax and acclimate to the altitude. In the evening, visit to the amazing colonial city built on the foundations of Inca palaces, walking the streets of the Barrio de San Blas and the Stone of Twelve Angles on Calle Hatun Rumiyoq, the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun where we appreciate the fine work, the Cathedral with its carved woodwork delicate and impressive altars. End by visiting the Museo Inka, also known as the Admiral’s House, which was built on Inca foundations and now houses a comprehensive collection of ceramics, textiles and metalwork Inc. (B)
Drive towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by the river Urubamba. On the way, stop at Awana Kancha where you will discover the beauty of South American camelids: guanacos, llamas and alpacas single species, and an exhibition of traditional Andean textile art. Then, traverse the colorful market of Pisac, where you can see a blend of color, tradition and local people exhibiting typical products, silver handicrafts, alpaca and ceramics. After lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the Americas, its narrow streets and canals unchanged since Inca times. In it, you can see the fortress of Ollantaytambo archaeological complex with terraces and stone walls carved with a dazzling technique. (B,L)
Today, visit one of the most important energy centers in the world: Machu Picchu. The excursion is done by train and during the tour you will have an amazing view of the landscape of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, our staff will assist you to board the bus that will take you to the Citadel. The professional guide will transmit us the history surrounding this mysterious and charming place. Afterwards, enjoy a free time to explore the area on your own, relax or meditate. When appropriate, descent to the town of Aguas Calientes. After a buffet-style lunch address the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival, our collaborators will await at the station and drive you back to your hotel. (B,L)
At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the pier for departure by canoe to motor to the selected Lodge. If required, stop along the way for recent purchases of basic utensils. In the afternoon, arrival to the hotel for rest. (B,L,D)
Possible activities will be indicated by the local guide. Mainly is walking and canoeing for observation of birds and mammals. (B,L,D)
Relax until return to canoe motor at Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport to take your flight to Lima city. Upon arrival, met by our collaborators and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure, optional activities or do shopping in the Indian markets for the exclusive jewelry or clothes made of vicuña and alpaca boutiques. (B)
